Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Raphael and I am one of the new interns here at Abraham & Harrison and so excited to join the team! I am approaching my senior year at American University where I am working for a Bachelors degree in Public Communications.
I am from Westfield, New Jersey. It is a small town located about 20 miles outside of New York City. I go to the city pretty often and absolutely love it! I also love to travel. I just returned from a semester abroad in Madrid followed by a 3-week euro-excursion. It was an amazing experience, however it is now good to be home and relaxed.
I decided to major in public communications after my first public relations class because I found the field to be so interesting. The media’s ability to shape public opinion truly fascinates me, which is an integral part of the public relations process. I find that digital PR and social media is such a new form of PR that is evolving with our user-generated world. New media publications, social media tools and networks have given a powerful and visible voice to the consumers. Blogs, pod casts, and social networks allow for a new influence: each other; which introduce a new style of marketing and advertisement.
I am so eager to learn more about digital PR and social media. With this internship I hope to become a stronger participant in the social media world. I am so grateful for this opportunity and excited to be a part of the team!
