Cosmo is telling women to use their thongs as hair ties.
Korin points out even if you “could spend $200 on a haircut, highlights and a blowout” chances are the average guy “won’t notice.” Instead that same oblivious guy will rave about the time his buddy “cooked a T-bone on the radiator of his Dodge Ram.”
The basic idea is that quirky sexy is attractive, and I think this holds true for social media marketing as well. Don’t be afraid to be a little odd and a little raunchy. People will love you for it. You might not want to use your thong as your profile picture or “leak” nude photos of yourself, but little double entendre will always get attention.
Perfectly safe is generally boring. If you refuse to take any risks with what you write people will feel that in the voice of your work, and they’ll wander away from you to someone willing to take those risks. Readers crave novelty and human beings (as advertisers from all ages know) respond very well to sexually charged advertisements.
So, be novel, be risky, be sexy, and people will adore you for it.
