This is just the way that iPods are built. The iPhone is just too svelte to allow a removable battery -- I have watched some iPhone Porn (seeing the iPhone taken apart through brute force) and it is really too "efficient" with its use of space to allow the replacement of a batt. You own an iPod first, a PDA second, and a Phone 3rd. Well, do you own an iPod? This is just the way that iPods are built.
