Our very own Jonathan Trenn makes an SEO prediction about the 2008 elections,

“Prediction: We’ll have at least one - but more likely two - scandals over the political season that incorporate black hat marketing.” Via Jonathan Trenn

What do you think? We are all aware of Denial of Service (DoS)  attacks, a type of Black Hat SEO, right? Well, there are many more, as well, many of which are described over on Strumpette.

Do you think that black hat SEO tactics will sully the campaign for president?

2 Responses to “Presidential Candidates Fallen by Black Hat SEO”

  1. Some are obvious:

Creating false or distored rumuors and spread them via RSS feeds to key supporters, who will then add to the fury by posting or commenting on blogs.

Creating fake videos on YuoTube and other sites.

Creating astroturf support groups that ‘inadvertantly’ put the candidate they support in a negative light.

Optimizing sites that attack a cancidate by linking them to something bad (news developments, inept gov’t practices).

  2. you think only two? maybe you mean after the primaries, hahaha
