Over the past several days I have been coming across and exploring many blogs on the role of technology in education. It seems to be such a muddled world - some teachers seem to be light years ahead in the integration of these technologies into their classrooms. I’ve been using GrandCentral, a free and full featured phone forwarding service for about a month and a half now. Basically they give you a number for free which you can then forward to multiple other phone numbers. So one number rings your office, house, and cell. Whichever you pick up first takes the call. If you don’t take the call, it is routed to your GrandCentral voicemail, with free unlimited storage, accessible via telephone, desktop browsers, and BlackBerry/PDA browsers. Other companies charge for this kind of “find-me” or “follow-me” call forwarding, as well as voicemail, but GrandCentral has been, up to this point, free of charge.
